Description

The Scout is a freestyle inspired pow stick and is the perfect compliment to your daily driver. Engineered to be sized down, the Scout takes inspiration from short fat swallow tail surfboards. The result is a board with a wider platform and shorter length, increasing maneuverability in the trees while maintaining rideability in resort. Although it's included in the Powder Quiver for its incredible soft snow ability, the Scout is one of our most versatile boards across all terrain. The Scout x Bensen is outfitted with a Phonon Pre-Tension Fibreglass and Oak Wood Veneer topsheet, an innovation in snowboard construction that harnesses elastic energy through continuous lamination, supercharging the board’s ‘pop’. Construction is streamlined by combining carbon and fiberglass with resin, eliminating the need for the traditional plastic topsheet and UV Lacquer. The result is a super lightweight and powerfully reactive board built with less materials. The Scout is finished off with the fastest, hardest sintered base in the world for performance in all conditions.

Due to the unique manufacturing process of the wood veneer and Phonon Topsheet, subtle variations and imperfections in finish may occur which give these boards their unique character. The wood veneer on this board has been manufactured without a plastic topsheet protecting it as we felt feeling the wood and the riding characteristic was essential to keep. As such, the veneer can be maintained for longevity by applying a natural wood oil coating, we recommend Osmo Polyx®-Oil.

Graphic Inspiration

Born in Denmark, Niels Bendtsen has always been immersed in design and craftsmanship. After emigrating in 1951 to Canada, Bendtsen began an apprenticeship under his father, a cabinetmaker who worked under Jacob Kjaer. In 1963, he opened his own retail store where he sold his father's designs, as well as other pieces from Scandinavia.

Moving around the world while gaining different types of experience in the world of furniture, Bendtsen started his own manufacturing company, Bensen, combining Italian craftsmanship with contemporary designs. Along with his staff, Bendtsen designs and oversees production on every piece.

Niels was one of the founders of Never Snowboards (later changed name to Option Snowboards) who Endeavor founder Max Jenke was first sponsored by but also worked during the summers sanding top sheets and screen printing.

The Scout's so nice I bought it twice

So...I was looking for a volume shifted shape in 2020, and I ran across the Endeavor Maverick (no longer in production); however, the Scout is what I ended up going with.

The Scout is truly volume-shifted, whereas the Maverick just had less aggressive taper.

I went with a 156 (the first time); I'm 5'10" and 178 during the winter when I'm lapping chairs. In the summer it's like 185...sigh.

The 156 is the best board I've ever ridden in tress and also the best at powder in trees.

It's top 5 in powder as well.

This board has saved my behind more times than I can count in moguls as well, due to it's freestyle roots. The front foot edge will dig in when the back break loose, allowing my to put 95% of my weight on my front foot (usually toeside) edge and still be able to carve.

I've never ridden a board that I could throw around like this.

Bid mountain, sketch snow, groomers, cat tracks are not this board's forte. It's not a speed demon, not does it lock in on hardpack or ice. I religiously tune my base and edges for these reasons.

I have used and abused it (multiple core shots), and I always wondered if 4cm smaller would be better, so here I am three years later buying another.

Since it has the channels people usually this it's a Burton, and I get a lot of questions on it, so be prepared if you don't like channels or talking about gear (which of course I like, since I'm leaving a review).

Thanks Endeavor for making this board!

The board is absolutely amazing!!! It does it all.
My only complaint is, it needs to be stiffer under my back foot. I think the flex pattern is for a weekend warrior or only powder riders.
I’m going to get my hands on next years free ranger this weekend. And I’ve heard it is the stiffer version. So my scout might be for sale sooner than later
