Skull Skates x Endeavor

Skull Skates is Canada’s oldest skateboard company dating back to 1976.

Although predominately known as a skate brand, PD and crew have snowboarding roots older than most snowboard companies around today.

This collaboration combines the O.G. Bomber Skeleton graphic from 1988 along with the highly innovative Crystal Ocean wide shape and design from 1993 - updated with Endeavor's exclusive Phonon Topsheet and Smoothride Sidewall technology.

In Conversation With: PD Skull Skates Part 1

PD walks us through the evolution of the Skull Skates brand in snowboarding. Snowboards from 1983 to the release of our collaboration board for winter 2024.

We worked closely with Endeavor Snowboards to design this board from the inside out, from scratch, to create a snowboard that is agile for manoeuvrability and also stable at high speeds. Essentially one all mountain design that works for everything, creating my personal favourite snowboarding machine.

The Endeavor Skull Skates snowboard brings back an original Crystal Ocean snowboard shape PD designed in the 90s.

Only available in a 154, the Skull Skates snowboard has a super quick radius nose and tail and blunt low profile shape. The effective edge on this traditional cambered board rides big so there’s no issues carving groomers.

PD wanted a stiff flex like his board from the 90s so you can expect an aggressive ride. As well, he likes riding his boards way in the back, so we added two extra sets of inserts below our 6 packs to ensure you can ride all the way back.

PD describes the early days of snowboarding - figuring out how to get on chairlifts when snowboarding wasn't allowed, rider certification, and why he started making boards, and more.
