I got this board mostly based on the glowing reviews from the Angry Snowboarder (supported by every review on this site as well).
Review of Archetype wide board - from eastern Canada
Purchased the board for a trip out West which was cancelled due to covid 19. Live in Ottawa and rode the board 3 times on groomed runs before all mountains closed down because of covid 19. I am 6 feet, 180 pounds and ride large Burton EST X Base bindings. I purchased the 160 W board as the board I usually ride is a custom Jasey Jay Anderson SBX board which pretty wide. I was looking for a more playful board than a boardercross race board. I am very satisfied with the Archetype. At first I was having a difficult time carving on my toe side. I could engage the heel very easily and carve very low on my heel side but I would wash out and not carve very well on my toe side. It took me a second day on the board to adjust my riding style to the board. Nothing carves like an SBX race board and I think I had gotten lazy in my riding style. I only used the board 3 times on groomed runs. Very impressed in how well it holds a carve on both heel and toe side. Very impressed in how stable it is at higher speeds. I was unsure of my purchase at first as I thought the swallow tail would wash out the board on a groomed run but "non"...it holds a carve very well. I spoke with Chris from Endeavor a few times before I purchased as I had a lot of questions. Received very good feedback and assistance from them. Merci..je suis très heureux avec la planche...can't wait to try it out again next winter..Luc!
Endeavor Archetype Snowboard
Super fun and effortless float
6'4" 215lbs rider on a 160 Wide Archtype.
This board is like nothing else i've ridden in deep pow. The swallow tail and wide nose combine to create effortless float and quick precise turns in the deepest snow. It feels surprisingly light and has a fun, playful flex. If I could change one thing I would just add a longer Wide model and increase the stiffness a bit.
This board is amazing, it’s float over powder snow and can also carve on groom snow and manage tight tree run. Anyone should have this board in his quiver !!!
